SO WHAT IS THIS EQUINOX THING?
"An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the Sun being vertically above a point on the Equator. The term equinox can also be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens." - Wikipedia. I've taken the information from this description and based the plot around the specific part where it says 'when such a passage happens'. The equinox is somewhat of an opening for the Otherworld creatures to get into the Mortal world. It occurs around about twice a year.
THEN IN CHARACTER, IF THE CREATURE STAYS FOR TOO LONG AND THE EQUINOX PASSES, WHAT HAPPENS THEN IF THEY CAN'T STAY IN THE MORTAL WORLD THAT LONG?
I've made it so Otherworld creatures only need the equinox to occur for them to get in to the Mortal world, not out of it. Down Mappleberry Lane is the forest that intersects the border of the Mortal world and the Otherworld; an Otherworld creature merely only needs to step past it to enter their world again.
WHEN WILL IT OCCUR IN CHARACTER?
I'm not going to be specifying an actual time in the roleplay for when the equinox will occur, as I believe in doing so I would limit members chances to roleplay their little demons. Members will be able to post anytime they like with Otherworld creatures; just keeping in mind that they can't have been there for an overly long time, or have just been in the world the day before.
CAN WE NOT ROLEPLAY IN THE OTHERWORLD?
At a later date, if popular vote demands it, I might make a new roleplaying section for the Otherworld. However, I do not see much point in doing so. In their natural habitat, all Otherworld creatures revert to their ugly, vile, cannibalistic selves. They do not talk nor interact with each other, they have no reason to. They merely just snarl and hiss and growl and snap and feed.
ARE HUMANS ALLOWED IN THE OTHERWORLD?
Absolutely not. The Otherworld is dying and death and total suicide to willingly walk into for them. They are not incapable of pressing past the border down Mappleberry Lane; in fact quite a few in the last hundred years have dared step beyond it, however none have ever come back alive. They cannot survive in the Otherworld. The air chokes them - and if not quick enough, a creature of the Otherworld will.
Any further inquires should be placed in response to this thread.
